About The Position

This role involves supporting students and managing the computer lab in an elementary school setting. The paraprofessional will assist a certified teacher with instruction, prepare materials, and provide intervention to students. Additionally, they will be responsible for the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of the computer lab.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Clean background check
  • Pass Paraprofessional Assessment at hire or have 60 college hours
  • Participate in required Paraprofessional module trainings provided by ADE
  • Be able to stand a minimum of 80% of your scheduled shift
  • Be able to walk short distances to escort children between classrooms and activities
  • Be able to lean, reach, bend, lift and squat to help children and co-workers
  • Be able to walk on uneven surfaced (playground)
  • Be able to walk up and down stairs
  • Be outside in all weather conditions for assigned duty. This includes recess, before school drop offs and after school pick- ups.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor children in the classroom, lunch room, bathroom area, hallways, and during recess time
  • Assist a certified teacher with teaching as directed
  • Prepare curriculum materials and activities for instruction
  • Implement small group instruction, including proper usage of programs
  • Help with maintaining a safe/clean classroom
  • Provide students with content area intervention either one on one or in small group settings as directed by principal
  • Oversee the operation of the computer lab not limited to repairs, program installation, and daily maintenance
  • Assist with other classes as directed by supervisor and/or principal
