About The Position

Westbury Christian School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Elementary Music Teacher to join our Lower School team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of music pedagogy and a passion for creating a dynamic and Christ-centered learning environment for young learners. Requirements

Committed Christian who is a faithful member of a local Christian church.
Successful applicants must affirm the Statement of Faith and Biblical Principles.
Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Elementary Education, or a related field.
Valid teaching certificate.
Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
Creative, motivated, and dedicated to helping students reach their full potential.
Alignment with the school's core values: relational, growth mindset, teamwork, commitment, and creativity.

Nice To Haves

Elementary music teaching experience preferred; new graduates with strong enthusiasm for elementary and music education are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Plan and deliver dynamic lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum, Christian values, and state standards.
Integrate faith and learning in meaningful and relevant ways.
Maintain a nurturing, safe, and loving learning atmosphere which supports and encourages student engagement and belonging.
Assess student progress and provide feedback to improve performance and skills.
Plan musical tasks that are meaningful, related to course objectives, and developmentally appropriate.
Manage allotted learning time to maximize student vocal, rhythmic, and instrumental practice
Participate in extracurricular activities, school events, and other community initiatives.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and support.
Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school's continuous improvement.
Uphold the school's mission, values, and policies.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student success and the overall school community.
Attend faculty meetings, professional development days, and school events as required.
Support and participate in the school’s faith development programs.
