About The Position
Tutor Doctor is seeking a dependable, engaging tutor to work individually with two elementary students: one rising fifth grader and one rising sixth grader. The primary focus will be mathematics, with some English Language Arts support as needed. Tutoring will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays, with one day held in person and the other conducted virtually. Each student will receive a separate one-hour session.
Requirements
- Dependable, engaging tutor
- Availability on Mondays and Wednesdays
- Reliable transportation for the in-person session
- Comfortable conducting virtual tutoring sessions
Nice To Haves
- Experience tutoring or teaching upper-elementary students
- Strong knowledge of elementary mathematics
- Comfortable providing basic reading and ELA support
- Patient, encouraging, and able to build a positive rapport with students
Responsibilities
- Provide individualized instruction for each student
- Strengthen mathematics skills and address learning gaps
- Offer occasional reading or ELA support as needed
- Adapt lessons to each student’s learning style and academic needs
- Prepare engaging, age-appropriate activities and practice materials
- Communicate professionally with the family and Tutor Doctor
- Be dependable, punctual, and consistent
