About The Position

Stratford School, part of Spring Education Group, is seeking enthusiastic and reliable part-time and full-time Lunch team members to help create a positive, engaging, and safe environment for elementary school students. This role supports daily campus operations, including student arrivals and departures, and supervision during lunch. A key responsibility is driving the school's ten-passenger van to transport students between Stratford Crestmoor Canyon in San Bruno and Stratford Middle School in San Francisco, both in the mornings before school and in the afternoons after school. The ideal candidate is punctual, professional, growth-oriented, and eager to make a meaningful impact. Preference will be given to candidates with creative talents and passions in STEAM and youth mentorship. A clean driving record, defensive driving style, and calm demeanor are required.

Requirements

  • Must be 25 years or older
  • California driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Comfortable driving, maneuvering, and parking a ten-person passenger van.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college or experience in education, youth development, or a STEAM-related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of Positive Discipline or other student-centered behavioral approaches is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with middle and/or high school students is a plus.
  • Candidates with creative talents and passions in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) and youth mentorship will be given preference.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure student safety and well-being by maintaining active supervision by sight and sound at all times.
  • Practice safe driving and maintain a calm, clean, and respectful commute environment for students.
  • Complete daily morning van rider log.
  • Refuel, clean, and maintain the school van as needed or requested.
  • Monitor student behavior and interactions during lunch and extended day with consistency and fairness using Positive Discipline practices.
  • Proactively supervise for student safety during transitions, activities, and outdoor play.
  • Build strong, respectful relationships with students and parents that foster trust and encourage personal responsibility and academic growth.
  • Actively engage with students to promote a sense of belonging and empowerment during after-school activities.
  • Serve as a positive role model, upholding the school's values of respect, excellence, always improving, collaboration, and high expectations.
  • Arrive on time and prepared; maintain professional conduct, dress, and communication at all times.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and training.
  • Collaborate with the extended day team and school staff to ensure smooth daily operations and a cohesive student experience.
  • Take ownership of cleaning, organizing, and maintenance of shared program spaces.
  • Reinforce school-wide expectations and assist in managing student behavior with consistency and positive discipline techniques.
  • Identify student needs and refer concerns to the appropriate school personnel when necessary.
  • Treat all students with dignity and respect, showing patience and empathy in all interactions.
