About The Position

This position is for the 2026-2027 school year. The role focuses on supporting student growth in knowledge and development to their fullest capacity, emphasizing a team approach with parents in educating students.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • One to three years’ experience in secretarial position.
  • Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, hearing; intermittent keyboarding, use of wrists, hands, fingers, speaking, typing and writing.
  • Frequent filing, sitting, standing and walking
  • Ability to communicate effectively with and relate well to others.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the computer including word processing, data entry and spread sheets.
  • Proficient in basic accounting and record keeping, knowledgeable in administering first aid and caring for sick children, ability to work with frequent interruptions and ability to establish rapport with students and school families.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares student and staff attendance reports and submits to Assessment Technology & Information Services and the Instructional Planning Center.
  • Enters data on the computer.
  • Verifies accuracy of employee time sheets.
  • Registers new students and maintains accurate student records.
  • Prepares/composes principal’s written communication through the use of word processing software and the computer.
  • Accounts for and deposits Trust and Agency funds and other collected monies.
  • Enters student attendance information daily into the computer.
  • Verifies student absences and inform the principal of excessive student tardies and absences.
  • Operates office machines.
  • Handles and distributes mail.
  • Processes incoming communications.
  • Files correspondence and instructional materials.
  • Answers telephones, log and deliver messages.
  • Unpacks materials received.
  • Inventories and disperses incoming supplies and other instructional materials.
  • Administers first aid and completes District accident report forms.
  • Cares for sick children and notifies parents.
  • Obtains authorization, logs and dispenses prescription medicine to students as delegated by the nurse.
  • Arranges bus/taxi transportation for students, handles transportation problems.
  • Takes lunch count and reports to Child Nutrition Services.
  • Prepares and verifies requisitions and processes vouchers.
  • Secures student medical information, creates health card and maintains accuracy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by principals.
