Elementary Bilingual Teacher
About The Position
Empowerment Academy Charter School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Bilingual (Spanish) Teacher to support students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade within a push-in and pull-out instructional model. The ideal candidate will provide targeted language support, promote academic achievement, and differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of multilingual learners. This role requires close collaboration with classroom teachers to ensure equitable access to grade-level curriculum for bilingual and multilingual students. Requirements
- Candidates MUST either hold a New Jersey Department of Education CE, CEAS or Standard Certificate in Bilingual Education.
- Candidate must be fluent in English and Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct instruction to K–3 students in both push-in (in-class) and pull-out (small group) settings
- Deliver targeted English Language Development (ELD) and/or bilingual instruction aligned to grade-level standards, the WIDA Can Do Descriptors, and ELD WIDA Standards
- Support students in developing listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in both English and Spanish
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse language proficiency levels and varied student learning needs
- Utilize scaffolded instructional strategies to support comprehension of academic content and explicit vocabulary development
