The Teacher (K-6 License) position within the Ozark School District is responsible for classroom instruction. This role involves teaching district-approved curriculum aligned with state frameworks and standards, preparing lessons, and providing individualized and small group instruction. The teacher will adapt and differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of each student, employing various instructional techniques and media. Evaluation of student academic growth will be conducted through multiple assessment methods, and the teacher will identify student needs, make referrals, and develop strategies to support students with individual education plans. Modifications will be made for gifted and talented, English Language Learners, students with learning disabilities, physically impaired students, at-risk students, and other individual student needs, including learning styles. The teacher will create a safe and orderly classroom environment conducive to learning, appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. They will assist administration in implementing policies governing student conduct, develop classroom behavior rules, and maintain order fairly. The teacher will be available to students and parents for education-related purposes and will plan and coordinate the work of paraprofessionals, parents, and volunteers. Participation in faculty meetings and professional development activities is required, as is collaboration with staff on instructional goals, objectives, and methods. Support for extra-curricular activities and taking necessary precautions to maintain a safe environment are also key responsibilities. Regular communication with internal and external publics to foster positive school/community relationships is expected.
