Elementary Autistic Support Paraprofessionals (Self-contained Classroom)
About The Position
Derry Township School District is hiring an Elementary Autistic Support Paraprofessional to support students in elementary autistic support classrooms. These classrooms serve students with varied learning, communication, social-emotional, sensory, and behavioral needs. The position works under the direction of a special education teacher and supports students’ learning, participation, safety, and independence throughout the school day. No prior special education experience is necessary; training and support will be provided. The schedule depends on the employee’s building assignment and assigned hours, which may be 5.75 or 6.5 hours per day. Elementary school hours are 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.; middle and high school hours are 7:18 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. The starting salary is $21.15 per hour. The position includes full medical, dental, and vision benefits.
