Reporting to the Principal, the Assistant Principal is central to the viability of the school. The Assistant Principal works as part of the school's leadership team including department chairs, Counselor, and the Principal. Specific duties will be determined by the team based on the candidate’s strengths and dispositions. Building-level leadership in MCAS centers in the following areas: Leading others in setting and achieving a strategic direction that recognizes current strengths and weakness and is internally and externally coherent, Providing instructional leadership that utilizes a variety of data sources and recognizes the complexity and centrality of teaching and learning, Building and maintaining a quality team by understanding current team staff and opportunities for improvement, Creating and nurturing a positive, supportive and inclusive school climate, and Managing operations and resources effectively.
