About The Position

The Elementary Assistant Principal works closely and cooperatively with the Elementary Principal to coordinate and direct all aspects of the Elementary program on the individual campus. Shared responsibilities and duties include family interviews, teacher and staff performance evaluations, implementing support for students in need of Academic Support, providing guidance to high school interns serving in the Elementary school, and facilitating disciplinary action for elementary student as needed and in accordance to the Family and Faculty handbook keeping the Principal informed of action plans and progress. Other responsibilities shall be carried out under the direction and guidance of the Principal with particular emphasis placed on teamwork and open communication.

Requirements

  • A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spirit
  • A daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of school
  • Commitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith for Christian Academy School System
  • Agreement and belief that The Bible is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind
  • A Masters Degree in School Administration and Leadership preferred
  • Eligibility for ACSI certification
  • Leadership skills to lead diverse groups of people, including regularly leading prayer, devotions and an occasional Bible study
  • Proven oral and written skills, including public speaking
  • A high level of professionalism, including a high level of discretion and respect for confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Work with students in restorative behavior practices and facilitate any necessary disciplinary actions if needed
  • Work closely with the Office of Admissions to help coordinate Elementary admissions
  • Assist the Elementary Principal in the interviewing of prospective families
  • Attend regular Principal, Teacher, Lead Teacher and support personnel meetings
  • Assist with teacher and staff evaluations
  • Conduct tours when needed
  • Act as the liaison between faculty and all administrative offices
  • Assist in the implementation of the academic programs
  • Attend necessary workshops and conferences to remain current on educational and spiritual practices
  • Serve as liaison between 4th grade and Middle School with regards to preparing students for the transition
  • Oversee the scheduling of the Teacher Assistant
  • Work closely with the High School in overseeing the HS internship and cadet programs
  • Assist with the updating of Family and Faculty handbooks
  • Work closely with Principal and Academic Support to implement a program in the classrooms
  • Coordinate the annual Achievement Testing Program for all Elementary Students
  • Schedule Classroom Coverage for the Teaching Assistant
  • Work with the substitute coordinator to coordinate classroom coverage when needed
