About The Position

This is a 1-year interim position for an Elementary Assistant Principal at Sherwood Heights Elementary School for the 2026-2027 School Year. The contract is for 215 days, with a salary range of $123,387-$125,125,491 depending on experience. The position is open until filled and reports to the Superintendent.

Requirements

  • Valid Oregon Administrative License
  • Masters’ Degree in School Administration or related field
  • At least five years’ experience in public school administration. (preferred)
  • At least seven years’ experience of successful classroom teaching. (preferred)
  • Experience working with diverse populations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaborative with various stakeholders (teachers, administrative team, parents, patrons, etc)

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate Visionary Leadership by: Collaboratively develops and implements a shared vision for the high school, Developing and implements school improvement plans, Monitoring and evaluates building goals and site plans, Promoting continuous and sustainable growth.
  • Facilitate a Culture focused on Instructional Improvement by: Nurturing a school culture of trust and high expectations, Monitoring student progress towards the district strategic plan goals, Developing instructional and leadership capacity of staff, Monitoring and evaluating instruction regularly and consistently.
  • Demonstrate Effective Management Practices by: Efficiently and effectively utilizes resources of people, time, fiscal and technology, Promoting and protecting the welfare and safety of students and staff, Ensures organizational time is focused on quality instruction and student learning.
  • Foster Inclusive Practices that Reduces the Achievement Gap by: Understanding and applying strategies in response to student sub-group data, Understanding and respecting the community’s cultural and social resources, Building and supporting positive relations with all stakeholder groups.
  • Demonstrates Ethical Leadership by: Engaging in behaviors and actions that are honest, transparent and consistent, Ensuring a system of accountability for every student’s academic and social success.
  • Aware and Responsive to Socio-Political Influences by: Advocating for students and families, Anticipating emerging trends and initiatives in order to adapt one’s leadership.
