Elementary After-School Sports Coach
About The Position
This role involves leading fun, engaging, and age-appropriate sports classes for elementary-aged children. Additional coaching opportunities are available in preschool programs. The coach will teach fundamental sports skills while emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, and respect, creating a positive, encouraging, and inclusive learning environment. Safety and well-being of participants are paramount. The curriculum from Amazing Athletes and Super Soccer Stars will be followed, with coaches encouraged to bring their own enthusiasm. Building relationships with students, parents, and school staff, and representing the brand professionally are key aspects of the role.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in a sports, coaching, education, childcare, or camp setting.
- A passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping kids build confidence through sports.
- An energetic, positive personality with the ability to engage and motivate children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Availability to work at least three weekdays from 2:30-5:30pm.
- Reliable transportation to travel between program locations.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional.
- Must successfully complete a Department of Children and Families (DCF) background screening.
