About The Position

We are seeking either skilled or experienced Electroplaters or someone who wants to learn something new! Join our team on the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd shift. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in chemical processing and electroplating techniques. As an Electroplater, you will be responsible for applying various metal coatings to a range of substrates, ensuring high-quality, durable, and aesthetically pleasing finishes. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and commitment to safety will contribute to our continued success in delivering exceptional products to our customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in electroplating and chemical processing is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electroplating techniques, chemical reactions, and surface preparation methods.
  • Familiarity with various plating metals, processes, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in using plating equipment, tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, work instructions, and blueprints.
  • Good mathematical and analytical skills for measuring and calculating plating parameters.
  • Strong commitment to safety practices and environmental regulations.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • additional technical education or certification in electroplating or related field is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electroplating processes according to established procedures and specifications.
  • Prepare workpieces and ensure proper cleaning, masking, and pre-treatment prior to plating.
  • Accurately mix and prepare chemical solutions required for electroplating processes.
  • Monitor and maintain chemical concentrations, pH levels, and temperatures to ensure consistent plating results.
  • Clean, polish, and prepare substrates to be plated.
  • Conduct visual inspections to identify any surface defects or imperfections that could affect plating quality.
  • Utilize various electroplating techniques to apply coatings of different metals (e.g., nickel, gold, silver, etc.) to substrates.
  • Adjust plating parameters to achieve desired thickness, adhesion, and appearance.
  • Conduct regular quality checks and inspections of plated products to ensure they meet established standards for thickness, adhesion, surface finish, and overall quality.
  • Identify and address any issues or anomalies that may arise during the plating process.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve technical problems.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines when handling chemicals, operating equipment, and performing electroplating tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and proper disposal of waste materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of plating processes, chemical usage, inspection results, and any other relevant data.
  • Complete required documentation and reports.
  • Clean and maintain plating equipment, tanks, and tools to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Work closely with fellow team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate production schedules, prioritize tasks, and ensure efficient workflow.
