About The Position

At Materion, everyone is included, respected and offered opportunity to grow. Join us! The Electroplater is responsible for the production of electroplated lids. You will get the opportunity to: Set up plating runs, determine proper barrel size, part load, and plate parameters to achieve the best overall balance between production efficiency and plating uniformity/quality. Maintain the quality of plating, clean and rinse tanks, perform routine testing and adjust chemistry or replace bath contents as required for process control. Be responsible for the safe and accurate control of precious metal inventory, existing as gold salt solution and as in-process gold plated lids, within the guidelines established by Inventory Control. Maintain plating equipment at its best efficiency and keeps the facility in an orderly and clean fashion to assure optimum plating performance. Maintain logs of mean gold and nickel thicknesses and adjust future run calculations for target thicknesses.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Plating/chemical background preferred
  • Export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
  • The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
