Requirements

• Associate's degree (or equivalent credit hours) in a health science area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.

Nice To Haves

• Training in invasive heart monitoring.
• Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the physiological condition of cardiac patients during invasive procedures such as heart catheterization, peripheral vascular procedures, interventions, temporary pacemakers, device implants, intra-aortic balloon pump insertions, and electrophysiology procedures.
• Calibrate and maintain equipment used in the conduction of tests and the processing of results while following departmental quality control guidelines.
• Use of sterile technique for setting up the procedure, handing off supplies, and prepping the patient for the procedure.
• Measure and utilize electrical signals on an electrocardiogram during procedures to stimulate and record heart rhythm activity.
• Provide hemodynamic monitoring during electrophysiology studies and prepare reports for attending physicians for documentation.
• May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.
