About The Position
NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island is a 591-bed university-affiliated medical center providing diagnostic and therapeutic care across medical and surgical specialties, along with inpatient and outpatient services. The Electrophysiology (Radiology) Technologist I is responsible for providing safe and effective imaging during electrophysiology procedures, minimizing radiation exposure for patients and staff, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary health team to support positive patient outcomes during electrophysiology testing and treatment. The role includes preparing electrophysiology rooms and patients, performing fluoroscopy and circulating during procedures, maintaining and troubleshooting fluoroscopic and electrophysiology diagnostic equipment, and supporting the department’s inventory and budget practices. The technologist also participates in orienting new employees as needed and helps identify and resolve problems in the work environment. The position requires graduation from a radiologic technology school, a current and valid New York State Diagnostic Radiography license, ARRT certification, and Basic Life Support certification. Candidates should have strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Radiology experience, electrophysiology lab experience, and familiarity with hemodynamic monitoring systems used in EP labs are preferred. The listed annual salary range is $106,840.88–$118,638.68. Actual compensation may depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need; the range excludes bonuses, incentive or differential pay, and other forms of compensation or benefits. Requirements
- Graduate of a Radiologic Technology School.
- Current and valid New York State license in Diagnostic Radiography.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
Nice To Haves
- 1–2 years of radiology experience.
- 1–2 years of experience in an electrophysiology lab.
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring systems used in EP labs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare electrophysiology rooms and patients for procedures.
- Perform fluoroscopy and circulate in the room during procedures.
- Ensure clear imaging and proper radiation safety for patients and staff.
- Maintain and troubleshoot fluoroscopic and electrophysiology diagnostic equipment.
- Address malfunctioning fluoroscopy and EP lab equipment appropriately.
- Participate in orienting new employees as needed.
- Work to ensure departmental compliance with the approved budget.
- Maintain inventory of EP supplies, including ordering and stocking.
- Participate in identifying and solving problems in the work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary health team to promote good patient outcomes during electrophysiology testing and treatment.
