About The Position

Electronics Test Technician performs moderately complex testing, troubleshooting and acceptance of production, deliverable material on pre-production and development systems, infrared devices, lowest replaceable unit, circuit cards, subs, final assemblies and components. This is a 3rd Shift role, working from 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, and is an onsite position in Andover, Massachusetts. The role requires the ability to work with engineering personnel, interpret technical documentation, and utilize various test equipment. The technician will isolate failures, perform rework as needed, and maintain equipment. This position is part of a collective bargaining agreement, meaning wage and workplace conditions are subject to its terms, and individuals hired will be represented by a union.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 1 - 2 years of specialized electronics education OR minimum of 2 years of experience in both electronics test and troubleshooting.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a Technical Interview.

Responsibilities

  • Performs moderately complex testing, troubleshooting, and acceptance of production and deliverable material on pre-production and development systems, infrared devices, lowest replaceable units, circuit cards, sub-assemblies, final assemblies, and components.
  • Works with engineering personnel with normal levels of support and supervision.
  • Works to prints, sketches, schematics, specifications, process sheets, and outlines.
  • Utilizes diversified test and measurement equipment and supports multiple setups simultaneously.
  • May work under environmental extremes.
  • Uses verbal, written, video, or computer-based procedures and knowledge of electronic theory to acquire, transport, and set up test equipment and test conditions.
  • Applies knowledge of electronic theory, diagnostic aids, specifications, and manuals to isolate failures in both the unit under test and associated test equipment to the lowest replaceable unit or component.
  • May perform rework, inspection, and re-inspection incidental to test and as required, to return defective units under test to operational condition in compliance with specifications.
  • Transports equipment, hardware, and repair material between work departments as required.
  • Loads and unloads UUT’s (units under test) using cranes, hoists, lifts, and other mechanical lifting devices.
  • Maintains associated peripheral equipment, tools, and fixtures incidental to the test process in proper operating condition and in accordance with general housekeeping guidelines.
  • Performs inspection of material utilizing test equipment, hand tools, and other mechanical tools.
  • Performs all marking, stenciling, and painting as required by process.
  • Fabricates special-purpose jigs, fixtures, and adapters.
  • Performs daily/weekly test station calibrations as required.
  • Tunes and pots RF modules.
  • Performs DITMCO continuity testing and troubleshooting across all product types, including sub-assemblies and deliverable assemblies.
  • Identifies deficiencies and makes suggestions to improve product reliability and quality.
  • Performs all duties contained in Test Operator C classification as directed.
  • Performs general maintenance and housekeeping of workplace, tools, and equipment.
  • Maintains records, moves materials, and follows safety rules in the performance of duties.
  • Performs other similar duties as required or directed.
