About The Position

We are hiring an Electronics Test Technician in Canonsburg, PA, to support the development, troubleshooting, testing, and repair of advanced defense electronics and prototype electromechanical systems within secure engineering and manufacturing environments. This role requires experience with component-level troubleshooting, analog and digital electronics, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, solder repair, power electronics, and Secret-cleared defense programs.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law.
  • Active Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance required at time of hire.
  • Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 1 year of electronics test, troubleshooting, or repair experience.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair electronic assemblies at the component level.
  • Strong understanding of: Analog circuits, including amplifiers, filters, oscillators, and power supplies
  • Strong understanding of: Digital circuits, including logic families, microcontrollers, and communication interfaces
  • Strong understanding of: Power electronics, including linear and switching regulators and motor drives
  • Experience using electronic diagnostic and test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Basic hardware fabrication and solder repair capabilities.
  • Familiarity with laboratory, engineering, or manufacturing test environments.
  • Ability to work onsite in a secure engineering or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform component-level troubleshooting and repair of analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics assemblies.
  • Analyze circuit schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to isolate and resolve electronic failures.
  • Operate diagnostic and electronic test equipment, including: Oscilloscopes, Spectrum analyzers, Logic analyzers, Signal generators, Digital multimeters
  • Support engineering activities involving the design, checkout, modification, fabrication, assembly, and testing of prototype electromechanical systems and specialized test equipment.
  • Apply electronics theory, including: Ohm’s Law, Kirchhoff’s Laws, Transistor theory, Operational amplifiers (op-amps), Digital logic, Power conversion principles
  • Identify and replace failed or out-of-spec electronic components, including resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, integrated circuits, and power devices.
  • Conduct functional, environmental, and verification testing to validate repairs and overall system performance.
  • Document failure analysis, root cause findings, corrective actions, and repair activities within maintenance and quality systems.
  • Provide technical support to engineering, manufacturing, production, and quality teams.
  • Assist with the development of troubleshooting procedures, repair documentation, and test plans.
  • Fabricate simple hardware assemblies and test setups as required.
