About The Position

Designs computer technology, instrumentation, communications devices, semiconductor devices, solid state devices and other electronic systems using an understanding of circuit theory and electrical or electronic engineering. Designs test systems for components and devices designed using electronic engineering techniques. Collaborates with line engineers in other disciplines either on product design or manufacturing of electronic components. Silvus Technologies, a leading provider of advanced MANET and MIMO communications systems, is reshaping mesh network technology for mission-critical applications – on the ground, in the air and at sea. Its battle-proven StreamCaster family of MANET radios and proprietary MN-MIMO waveform provides the vital communications link for defense, law enforcement and public safety agencies around the world, and in the toughest operational environments. Silvus Technologies is a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, Inc. This position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, at Silvus Technologies’ headquarters in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles, CA.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 2 years of relevant hardware test experience.
Hands-on experience using test equipment such as bench top power supplies, electronic loads, oscilloscopes, thermal chambers.
Experience with digital interfaces such as RS-232, USB 2.0, 1000BASE-T Ethernet.
Experience validating power supply sequencing, efficiency, and ripple for DC/DC converters, LDOs and PMICs.
Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts.
All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

Nice To Haves

Test automation using Python or LabView.
Knowledge of guidelines for PCB layout.
Audio testing and characterization experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to provide a clear summary of test status and any issues to the broader team.

Responsibilities

Using electronics test equipment to evaluate system performance, evaluate compliance compatibility and troubleshoot operation issues.
Carry out hardware test execution and generate status and test reports.
Define verification matrix and internal specifications of performance.
Review test result data to ensure that actual performance meets expected requirements.
Review and recommend improvements to existing test strategies.
Recommend new test techniques and technologies to ensure system performance.
Design test fixtures and calibrate test equipment.
Understand proper use and handling of sensitive circuits and equipment.
Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.
