About The Position

PCSI is seeking an Electronics Technician II to perform troubleshooting, repair, or replacement on various systems including controls, fire and safety devices, access control systems, CCTV, and security systems. This role involves maintaining, repairing, and installing electronic equipment, monitoring building energy management controls via IT networks, and applying comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems. The technician will interpret manufacturer manuals, understand electronic principles to diagnose and restore equipment, and work with circuits, tools, and testing instruments. Guidance will be received from supervisors, and work will be reviewed for compliance. There is potential to provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians. All work must be performed in accordance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) guidelines. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.

Requirements

At least four years related experience.
Able to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.
Ability to understand AC/DC electrical systems related to controls.
Must be computer literate.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people.
Ability to read and understand control drawings, electronic schematics, electrical diagrams, and construction drawings.
In depth knowledge of electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Ability to work as a team member.
Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision.
Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).

Responsibilities

Perform troubleshooting, repair, or replacement on systems and controls, fire and safety devices, access control systems, CCTV, and security systems.
Maintain, repair, and install various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment.
Monitor building energy management controls through various IT networks.
Troubleshoot, repair, or replace and install controls such as sensors, relays, actuators, electrical components, and wiring.
Apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturer manuals or similar documents.
Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles in determining equipment malfunctions and skill in restoring equipment operations.
Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments.
Receive technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician, and work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
May provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians.
Perform work IAW Performance Work Statement (PWS) guidelines.
