About The Position

SA-TECH is seeking to hire an Electronics Technician Maintenance III for a variety of vessels at Naval Base Point Loma (NBPL) to maintain electronic equipment onboard vessels. This role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance on shipboard and ground electronics, installing commercial off-the-shelf marine systems and specialized systems without supervision, and operating/maintaining WAN/LAN network equipment, HF/UHF/VHF Radios, and encryption devices. The technician will also be responsible for manufacturing, repairing, and installing coaxial and electrical and data cables and connectors, and applying technical knowledge to solve problems using manufacturers' manuals and schematics.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited trade school, applicable military service or proven performance gained through experience.
  • An understanding of the interrelationships of circuits, exercising independent judgment in performing such tasks as making circuit analysis, calculating wave forms, and tracing relationships in signal flow, using industry standard test instruments.
  • Work efficiently and effectively in a dynamic, fast paced, small team environment.
  • Employ proper and professional interpersonal skills interacting with and assisting engineers, technicians, and other personnel.
  • Maintain office information systems and be familiar with Microsoft Windows and Linux environments; proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 50 lbs.
  • Must be available while boat(s) in port to support maintenance and operational preparedness.
  • Working knowledge of Marine Navigation Electronics, RADAR, and NMEA network configuration.
  • Current Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a SECRET clearance throughout employment.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.

  • Knowledge of military operations is highly desirable.
