About The Position

Akima Facilities Operations is seeking an Electronics Technician Maintenance III to work in Fort Hood, TX. This advanced senior role involves seeking and fixing complex electronic problems, using tools like oscilloscopes and signal generators to repair circuit boards, radar, or communication systems. The position also involves training lower-level workers, reading complex blueprints, testing and aligning analog or digital circuits, and using advanced test gear like spectrum analyzers. The employee is regularly required to talk and listen. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Requirements

3-7 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic fields.
Component-level repair (soldering and testing).
Clear record keeping and test logs.
General experience as an electronics technician.
Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.
Must be able to receive a favorable TIER 1 investigation and obtain/maintain a CAC.
High School Diploma / GED.

Nice To Haves

Three years’ computer experience/operation and PLC programming.
Electronic certification apprenticeship or technical degree.
Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in a technical field.
Valid Driver’s License.
Commercial Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement.

Responsibilities

Maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices.
Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation.
Evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
Seeks and fixes complex electronic problems.
Uses tools like oscilloscopes and signal generators to repair circuit boards, radar, or communication systems.
Helps train lower-level workers.
Reads complex blueprints, tests and aligns analog or digital circuits, uses advanced test gear like spectrum analyzers.
