About The Position

Responsible for inspecting, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical components, alarm systems, light systems, building electrical systems, and sound systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Working knowledge of the proper utilization and care of hand and power tools and maintenance equipment.
  • Experience with logic systems including relay and Programmable logic control.
  • Experience with drives, including AC frequency and DC drives.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fast paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Ability to read/write, comprehend instructions and communicate in English.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively while elevated on ladders, platforms, or other structures at heights up to 320 feet above ground.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
  • Valid State Driver’s License required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, program, and maintain 2-way radio equipment.
  • Repair and maintain closed circuit cameras, supporting monitors and recording equipment.
  • Repair and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), specifically Allen-Bradley PLCs.
  • Support Ride Maintenance Technicians on repairs to rides, vehicles and/or show equipment.
  • Repair and maintain a wide variety of electronic field devices such as photo-eyes, proximity sensors, limit switches, micro-switches, amplifiers, etc. as required.
  • Provide system training and documentation.
  • Generate and update additional lighting paperwork such as Instrument Schedule, Circuiting, and Patching for the light plot.
  • Review and communicate clear goals of lighting design projects with management.
  • Schedule adequate time with the Director for design execution.
  • Recommend equipment and vendors to keep up with industry trends and show requirements.
  • Provide and maintain light plot and associated paperwork for the artistic concepts of the Director within budgetary constraints established for each production and special event.
  • Accomplish and supervise all lighting notes during tech and run of show or special event.
  • Consistently practice safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, safe lifting practices and reporting of unsafe situations.
  • Keep all records up to date and current in an accessible, organized fashion. (i.e., logbooks, inspection forms, etc.).
  • Ensure that rides are clean and visually in compliance with manufacturer’s specifications, guest, and Knott’s Berry Farm expectations.
  • Clean maintenance shops, including but not limited to stations, equipment, and tools.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
