About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Lead or Senior Electronics Project Engineer (Level 5 or 6) to join our team in El Segundo, California. This role provides Engineering leadership to a team representing multiple skill areas, which may include internal and external resources and customers. The engineer will develop statements of work (SOW) to satisfy research and development, ongoing and new business requirements, and develop new and follow-on concepts that will expand product or services lines. The position anticipates change and organizes processes and resources to proactively respond, identifies performance metrics, and ensures that work and project breakdown structure (WBS/PBS), schedule, and resource loading are completed by the team. The role also involves developing and communicating responsibility, authority, and accountability (RAA) to define team members' roles and responsibilities, and developing, maintaining, and distributing the team organization chart as needed. The engineer will lead project execution to complete the work statement and incorporate lessons learned into strategic process improvements, preparing and presenting outcomes, assessments, and corrective action initiatives to Boeing management. The role requires independent work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Lead (Level 5): 14+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 14+ years of experience leading engineering teams
  • 5+ years of experience leading large design, integration, and test teams
  • Requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

  • Senior (Level 6): 20+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of experience leading large design, integration, and test teams
