About The Position

Electric Boat is seeking an Electronics Mechanic to work in the Transfer Car Maintenance Shop for the Facilities Department. The role requires general industrial electrical knowledge and adherence to all OSHA regulations, company electrical safety training practices and guidelines, and NEC codes including NFPA 70E. The mechanic will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing control systems, including servo and PLC types, and must possess mechanical and electrical knowledge of automation components. The position involves reading electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic blueprints, performing minor installations of temporary wiring systems, working with outside contractors and vendors, and being available for weekend work and emergency situations.

Requirements

  • General industrial electrical knowledge.
  • Adherence to all OSHA regulations, company electrical safety training practices and guidelines, NEC codes including NFPA 70E.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required or 2 years of related technical experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in industrial and commercial electrical field including troubleshooting and repairing all types of control systems.
  • 5+ years' experience with motor control, PLC, and CNC machine troubleshooting.

Nice To Haves

  • Trade or Technical Degree Program Certificate is desired.
