About The Position

Northrop Grumman's Air Dominance Division (ADD) is seeking an Electronics Engineer. This role will support the development of sustainment solutions and/or new technologies to support, replace, and/or retrofit avionics equipment and components. As an engineer supporting Avionics, you are responsible for following internal processes to implement identified solutions, executing some of the required technical activities across multiple programs, and interact with suppliers in a technical capacity. This position will be located onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 2 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 0 years of related professional/military experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot systems to resolve issues, propose solutions, and communicate progress.
  • Understanding of electronics systems and electrical concepts, e.g., EMI.
  • Some experience with SPICE or other electrical modeling tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to environmental testing as it pertains to electronics, e.g., ESS.
  • Working knowledge of communications hardware and protocols for ethernet, serial, and 1553.
  • Experience with LabView, CATIA, and/or other data collection and modeling tools.
  • Awareness of Earned Value and Cost Account Management principles
  • Exposure to an Agile development environment.
  • Hardware integration experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Professional experience in aerospace and defense.
  • Active/Current DoD SECRET clearance, within 5 years of last investigation
  • Active/Current SAP clearance
  • Existing special access program clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Help design, develop, integrate, and/or test various types of avionics electronic equipment including power generation, communications, flight controls, networks, radar, navigation, weapons systems, etc.
  • Produce reports and briefs in support of designs to communicate technical status, challenges, impacts, and mitigations to engineering leadership and Customers.
  • Investigate different components to replace or improve legacy designs.
  • Ensure complex analog/digital circuitry components and (sub)systems meet Technical Performance Metrics by executing verification/validation activities of with Customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Support troubleshooting and system integration through root causing failures.
  • Support assessment of cost and schedule impacts of technical decisions.
  • Support technical interchange meetings/program reviews and assist in resolution of engineering challenges.
