About The Position

The Electronics Engineer Technician is responsible for the design, development and testing of electrical and electronic equipment, components, and systems. This role requires technical expertise in Test Program Sets (TPS) and built-in-test equipment (BIT/BITE), including analysis, development, evaluation, updates, prototyping, fielding, and specialized maintenance support throughout the system life cycle. The technician will provide remote and on-site troubleshooting and system repair, performing highly technical and specialized maintenance on the Army's legacy Base Shop Test Facility and associated TPS, various Automated Test Equipment, Line Replaceable Units, and Shop Replaceable Units with limited supervision. Additionally, the role involves providing operator training for customers on Army Automated Test Equipment and associated TPSs, constructing components, subunits, or simple models, and troubleshooting malfunctions. The technician will conduct various tests or experiments, potentially requiring minor modifications to test setups or procedures, and will extract and compile technical data from various sources, identify errors, and select methods for data presentation. The position also includes performing, supervising, and inspecting the duties of Journeyman Engineering Technicians.

Requirements

  • Five years in related MOS or three years in technical trade
  • Must currently have or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Must be a US citizen

Responsibilities

  • Perform analyses, development, evaluation, updates, prototyping, fielding, and specialized maintenance support for Test Program Sets (TPS) and built-in-test equipment (BIT/BITE) in all phases of the system life cycle.
  • Provide remote and on-site troubleshooting and system repair for the Army's legacy Base Shop Test Facility, associated TPS, Automated Test Equipment, Line Replaceable Units, and Shop Replaceable Units with limited supervision.
  • Provide operator training for customers on Army Automated Test Equipment and associated TPSs.
  • Construct components, subunits, or simple models per approved Government technical data and instructions, and adapt standard equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions in constructed components or adapted equipment.
  • Conduct various tests or experiments, potentially requiring minor modifications to test setups or procedures.
  • Select, prepare, and operate standard and non-standard test equipment and record test data.
  • Extract and compile technical data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc.
  • Process data, identify errors or inconsistencies, and select methods of data presentation.
  • Perform, supervise, and inspect the duties and work of Journeyman Engineering Technicians.
  • Other duties as assigned.
