About The Position

The Electrical / Electronics Engineer III/IV designs, develops, integrates, and validates complex electrical and electronic systems supporting NSWC Crane mission portfolios. This role leads engineering efforts across power, signal integrity, controls, communications interfaces, and platform-level integration to ensure systems are reliable, testable, and operationally effective. The engineer works closely with multidisciplinary teams to mature designs from concept through qualification, production, and sustainment, while balancing performance, schedule, and lifecycle supportability. This position is contingent upon award. Award is expected around the end of the year (2026).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
  • 7+ years of professional electrical/electronics engineering experience.
  • Ability to design and assess electrical architectures, perform engineering trade studies, and resolve complex integration issues.
  • Demonstrated experience with component selection, interface definition, power and signal analysis, and design-for-test/maintainability principles.
  • Experience generating technical documentation, including design artifacts, test procedures, and engineering reports suitable for government review.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with government IPT leads, peer engineering teams, and program leadership.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance (or clearable to that level) required due to support for classified programs and facilities.
  • Demonstrated success delivering electrical/electronic subsystem designs for DoD systems, preferably in Crane-relevant mission areas (sensors, EW, weapons support, or tactical communications).
  • Strong experience in schematic design, board-level integration, and troubleshooting using modern lab instrumentation and analysis tools.
  • Proficiency with electrical CAD/CAE tools, simulation, and hardware verification methods to support rapid design iteration.
  • Experience developing and executing environmental, EMI/EMC, and functional test plans in support of qualification and fielding.
  • Familiarity with cross-discipline integration (mechanical, software, systems engineering, manufacturing) and technical review governance.
