About The Position

In this role, the Electronics Assembler will perform electromechanical assembly, integration, and rework of rugged embedded electronic systems and subassemblies in compliance with documented work instructions, mechanical drawings, configuration control, and industry workmanship standards.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and execute written work instructions and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience assembling rugged electronic systems and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Experience with PCB rework/repair (through‑hole and SMT) and hand soldering techniques.
  • Experience assembling and reworking cable and harness assemblies.
  • Experience using torque-controlled tools and selecting appropriate hardware and tooling.
  • Ability to perform formal inspection sign‑off per production and quality procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and quality mindset.
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to lift 25–30 lbs. as required by production tasks.
  • IPC‑A‑610 Certification (Required or Ability to Obtain)
  • J‑STD‑001 Certification (Required or Ability to Obtain)
  • WHMA‑A‑620 Certification (Required or Ability to Obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Navigate manufacturing routers to determine build requirements, sequencing, and applicable inspections.
  • Access configuration management systems to locate, download, and apply the latest released work instructions and drawings.
  • Execute builds in accordance with controlled documentation and identify deviations or gaps.
  • Assemble rugged embedded electronic systems, including chassis‑level integration of 3U and 6U circuit card assemblies.
  • Perform electromechanical assembly including hardware installation using torque-controlled tools.
  • Select appropriate fasteners, bits, and tooling based on hardware and torque requirements.
  • Build and rework cable and harness assemblies in accordance with IPC‑A‑620 guidelines.
  • Operate labeling equipment to generate and apply product labels per work instruction requirements.
  • Perform printed circuit card assembly rework and repair for through‑hole and surface‑mount components.
  • Perform hand soldering and rework using appropriate equipment (e.g., hot air pencil, desoldering tools).
  • Execute work consistent with IPC‑A‑610 and J‑STD‑001 workmanship expectations.
  • Perform formal in‑process and final inspection sign off as defined by travelers and quality procedures.
  • Verify workmanship, assembly accuracy, hardware torque, labeling, and configuration completeness prior to sign‑off.
  • Work routinely with Quality personnel to address non‑conformances and ensure compliance with workmanship standards.
  • Work closely with Engineering to debug assembly and integration issues during production and initial builds.
  • Provide documented redlines, discrepancy reports, and proposed design or documentation changes during first‑article and prototype builds.
  • Collaborate with Test Technicians and Engineers to resolve test failures attributable to assembly, integration, or workmanship issues.
  • Maintain organized and EHS compliant work areas.
  • Perform work independently with limited supervision while meeting quality and schedule expectations.
  • Support other production areas and assignments as required to meet organizational needs.
