About The Position

Agfa Graphics is a leading supplier to the printing industry, providing wide-format inkjet printers, inks, and workflow automation software to sign & display companies. They also serve various industries by integrating their inkjet inks into existing manufacturing processes. Commercial, newspaper, and packaging printers rely on Agfa Graphics for prepress solutions, including user-friendly chemistry-free printing technology and mobile publishing software. The Electronical Assembler will be directly involved in the manufacturing of inkjet printers, responsible for assembling components using various tools and processes to meet production schedules. This role involves evaluating electrical equipment and circuits, building and calibrating instrumentation, assembling electronic components based on schematics, inspecting for issues, and troubleshooting electrical circuits and assemblies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Technical trade school certificate, Electrical.
  • 1-4 years of experience as an assembler in a manufacturing-type environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and electrical circuit troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of electrical principles, standards, and safety operating procedures.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor and as a member of a team as required.
  • Ability to follow directions and learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to look for problems in complicated electrical grids/circuits, isolate the issue and resolve issues.
  • Manual Dexterity: Working with wires, using hand tools and handling small components requires manual dexterity. Using calibration equipment and wires to build electrical systems.
  • Ability to properly terminate and crimp prepared wiring harness following work instruction and wiring schematic.

Responsibilities

  • Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to assemble equipment systematically.
  • Wire and test electrical assemblies and cables following engineering schematics.
  • Collaborate with team members to assemble pre-fabricated components and sub-assemblies, using drawings, schematics, bill of materials, and work instructions to complete builds.
  • Work effectively either as part of a team of assemblers and technicians or independently to produce quality products and assemblies.
  • Perform multiple inspections and quality checks in accordance with the Quality SOP.
  • Assist colleagues with on-the-job training, knowledge sharing, and learning.
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues and find effective solutions.
  • Participate actively in a 6S work environment.
  • Follow all Health and Safety procedures diligently.
  • Report production work orders promptly and accurately.
  • Complete all necessary documentation for quality assurance and progress tracking.
