The Electronics Test Technician I performs routine electrical and functional testing on circuit boards and electronic assemblies. This role follows established procedures under close supervision and supports accurate documentation and basic troubleshooting of test results.

Requirements

  • Technical school graduate or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proficient in the use of optical measurement tools, gauges, and meters.
  • Demonstrated craftsmanship with assembly hand tools and light power tools.
  • Ability to perform neat, accurate, and consistent work.
  • Capable of working independently and taking responsibility for assigned tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to retain and follow communicated instructions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Understanding of when to seek guidance and adherence to the appropriate chain of command.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine electrical and functional tests on circuit boards and electronic assemblies.
  • Follow detailed test procedures and work instructions under direct supervision.
  • Use multimeters, basic oscilloscopes, and related equipment to measure voltage, current, continuity, and simple signal characteristics.
  • Identify obvious defects or failures and perform basic rework, such as connector repairs, cable replacements, and simple component swaps.
  • Escalate complex issues to appropriate personnel in accordance with established procedures.
  • Accurately document test data, serial numbers, calibration information, and pass/fail results.
