About The Position

The Electrical/Mechanical Test Technician is responsible for testing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and validating electrical and mechanical assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. This role performs functional, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical testing of subassemblies and finished products while accurately documenting results, identifying defects, and supporting corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical aptitude, a solid understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, and a commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence. This position requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Flexibility to work overtime as business needs require is expected.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates Degree or Technical school certification. Extensive experience/training in Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical may be acceptable if no degree or certification.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in electronics testing, manufacturing test, or electrical/mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong understanding of electrical principles, circuits, and control systems.
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing software systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and demonstrate initiative in resolving issues.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety procedures and safe operation of manufacturing equipment, tools, and test systems.
  • Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience testing electromechanical products in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Working knowledge and experience using the following equipment and software is preferred: Test Equipment: Digital multimeters, Analog and digital oscilloscopes, Function and signal generators, AC and DC power supplies, AC/DC Hi-pot testers, Pressure and flow testing equipment, Calipers, gauges, and precision measuring instruments, Soldering and rework tools. Software and Computer Applications: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Visio, Windows Operating Systems, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and manufacturing software.

Responsibilities

  • Follow written work instructions, test procedures, specifications, and verbal directions.
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and functional testing of assemblies, subassemblies, and finished products in accordance with established procedures and engineering requirements.
  • Conduct continuity, resistance, voltage, current, leak, and performance testing as required.
  • Inspect assemblies for workmanship, component accuracy, proper configuration, and compliance with engineering drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Utilize test and measurement equipment including digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, pressure gauges, test fixtures, calipers, and other specialized test equipment.
  • Accurately document test results, inspection findings, and nonconformance reports in accordance with quality system requirements.
  • Verify and retest products following rework, repair, or corrective action activities.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to resolve product and process issues.
  • Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and testing devices safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area utilizing 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Assist with assembly, stockroom, packaging, shipping, and other departmental activities as needed.
  • Set up, organize, and maintain test stations, workstations, and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, safety, and process efficiency.
