About The Position

JT4 China Lake is seeking an experienced Electronic Technician to support the North Range team. This individual will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment and will have the ability to apply their technical knowledge of electronic principles. JT4 provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. We develop and maintain realistic integrated test and training environments, and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapon's systems and air crews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. This position is located at China Lake and is not eligible for telework. Ideal candidate will have an active secret clearance.

Requirements

  • An active secret clearance is ideal.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of telemetry, communications, and Range telemetry data paths and transport methods.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Education and/or training from an accredited college or technical school with courses in math, basic electronics, and microwave theory, or a military equivalent and three years of hands-on experience are required for this position.
  • International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET) certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in general electronics.
  • Good understanding of electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems.
  • Good understanding of test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment.
  • Experience with tubes, transistors, logic gates, and/or high-power RF devices.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot to the component level and competency in soldering.
  • U. S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and coordination of telemetry resources.
  • Operate telemetry recording systems.
  • Troubleshoot and perform diagnostics using the appropriate test equipment.
  • Operate and maintain electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and controlling equipment, microwave amplifiers and transmission lines, high-voltage power supplies and keying circuits, indicators and displays, and antenna positioning systems.
  • Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data, and test equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and effect repairs to restore equipment to required operating condition.
  • Manipulate computer keyboards and view and interpret computer displays.
  • Troubleshoot to the component level and make needed repairs.
  • Perform other job-related duties, as required.
