About The Position

This role involves assembling and testing electronic PCBs and instruments, assisting in the design and development of new electronic systems for geophysical research, troubleshooting electronic systems and equipment, maintaining records of repair and maintenance, and providing technical support to team members.

Requirements

  • Diploma or higher in electronics or a related field
  • Experience as an Electronics Technician
  • Experience with electronics assembly (hand soldering and reflow surface mount PCBA, as well as through-hole assembly)
  • Strong knowledge of electronic principles and troubleshooting techniques
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The ability and willingness to travel abroad to repair/troubleshoot equipment

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and test electronic PCBs
  • Assemble and test instruments (including wiring, mechanical assembly etc.)
  • Assist in the design and development of new electronic systems, instruments, and technologies for geophysical research
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with electronic systems and equipment
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all repair and maintenance activities
  • Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed
