Performs a variety of repetitive and non-repetitive tasks associated with electrical design and electro-mechanical testing of new equipment and new product prototypes in a lab environment. Runs and programs automated testing machines (DITMCO) for harness and component testing. Provides technical assistance to other personnel in the operation of computers, electronic equipment and various test applications. Performs first level testing, using standard equipment, and analyzes results to evaluate performance and determine need for adjustments. Builds, operates and modifies non-standard equipment and test fixtures. May recommend new equipment materials or procedures to improve product quality or reliability. Communicates with internal and external customers. Programs integrated circuits (ic chip, eprom, etc.). Performs mechanical calibration of systems and equipment. Develops fixturing and schematic drawings. Assists in writing, programming or modifying test specifications using standard procedures and/or computers.
