About The Position

VTG is seeking an Electronic Technician to support multiple projects. This role involves mechanical assembly, cable installation, testing procedures, data analysis, technical reporting, and system evaluation for submarine and shipboard systems.

Requirements

  • BS in electronics plus three years of related work experience, AS plus four years of related experience, or HS or equivalent plus six years of work related experience and/or training.
  • Full understanding and familiarization of electricity and electronics required.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Must be able to travel as required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform layout and mechanical assembly procedures for submarine and shipboard CSRR and CANES-related racks.
  • Report any issues or concerns to the lead engineering technician.
  • Install copper and fiber optic cabling across various submarine and shipboard platforms, utilizing cableway routing and isometric drawings to ensure accurate placement.
  • Conduct testing on installed system components, including continuity and megger tests, fiber optic light and loss tests, voltage frisks, wet/dry torque values, and tempest inspections.
  • Analyze and interpret test data to assess system performance and identify potential issues.
  • Complete technical reports and objective quality evidence documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Verify the functionality of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance before System Operational Verification Testing.
