About The Position

Red Peak Technical Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC, is seeking an Electronic Technician in San Diego, CA. This role involves evaluating, installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems, wiring equipment, and fixtures at both component and application levels. The technician will analyze end-of-life components through research and by applying knowledge of electricity and materials. Responsibilities include solving routine problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals and engineering drawings, requiring at least 2 years of experience. The position demands familiarity with circuit interrelationships, judgment in planning work sequences, and selecting appropriate tools and testing instruments. The work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. Familiarity with AC/DC circuits, relays, and PLCs is also required. The technician must comply with safety, security, property, material management, time, and attendance policies. This role involves maintaining records of inspections, repairs, and recurring maintenance checklists, and staying current on procedures, policies, instructions, technical orders, and manufacturer's manuals. Guidelines include those from the supervisor, manufacturer's handbooks, the National Electric Code, and engineering handbooks. Adherence to established safety procedures and the use of protective equipment are mandatory. The position may require climbing poles using a safety harness and involves approximately 50% travel.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience with fabricating, assembling, installing, modifying, and troubleshooting electronic equipment
  • HS Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Proficient in reading wiring schematics and assembly drawings
  • Experience with soldering practices and familiar with printed circuit boards and power supplies
  • Experience with Pre-Installation Test and Check-Out (PITCO) and System Operational Verification Test (SOVT)
  • Familiar with Quality Assurance procedures in assembly production phases
  • Use of power tools, drills and saws
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical hand tools
  • Experience with fiber optic and copper communications, installation and termination
  • Experience with exterior electrical/Comms conduit installation to power panels and junction boxes
  • Ability to adapt to changes in technology
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations
  • Basic skills in using various computer software, including ability to use the Windows operating system as well as common Office software such as Microsoft outlook, Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; must be able to read, write and speak fluent English
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Conduit and other regular electrician experience is a plus
