About The Position

This occupation requires operational and functional testing of production, limited production, prototype, experimental, and developmental electronics systems, subsystems, and assemblies where the systems are deliverable. Modifies and updates production units returned from the customer. Responsible for functional, operational, and final acceptance testing of combined electronic, electrical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, mechanical, and optical systems and/or highly complex portion systems. Detect, troubleshoot, analyze, and document malfunctions and make appropriate corrections utilizing shop theory. Knowledge of circuit theory, analog, and digital logic and RF theory as required. Set up and operate any required automatic, manual, standard, or special test equipment to perform functional, operational tests, using test procedures, source documentation, and other written and verbal instructions. Modify standard test equipment necessary to test completed assemblies independently or in sequence without the aid of test procedures. Operate automatic, semi-automatic test equipment and computer controlled test equipment, utilizing established test documentation where only minimal troubleshooting is required in the course of operation. Able to interpret wiring diagrams, wire running lists, schematic diagrams, and troubleshoot electrical/electronic equipment. Operate computer processor emulators and programmers. Operate necessary equipment to perform environmental testing, such as but nt limited to, temperature and vibration testing. Perform unit and subsystems functional testing utilizing manual testers, and general purpose test equipment such as but not limited to, signal generators, counters, oscilloscopes, meters, recorders, and computer controlled test equipment. Must have a thorough working knkowledge of automatic test stations and their operations and be able to troubleshoot tet software as well as hardware. Assist engineering and production departments concerning proposed changes, discrepancies or other characteristics disclosed during construction or test of experimental, developmental, prototype, and production assemblies. Assist engineers in developing test procedures and may construct test aids incidental to testing being performed. May troubleshoot STE stations, manual stations, and adapters used in functional testing of production units. Provide technical guidance and direction to lower grade personnel assigned to assist. Maintain records of troubleshooting results and actions. Perform other related paperwork as required. Maintain required certifications. Record test data and furnish reports, diagrams, and information in conjunction with the work described herein. This is a UNION Position working a 9/80 work schedule with every other Friday off: Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range $31.05 to $51.76 per hour.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years' experience in electronic testing and troubleshooting.
  • Experience involving: interfacing, communicating problems with company personnel.
  • Utilize computer skills to prepare appropriate reports and documentation.
  • Knowledge and ability to operate test equipment (i.e. Oscilloscopes, DMM's, Signal Generators).
  • Interpret wiring diagrams, wire running lists, schematic diagrams.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in Basic Electronics
  • Proficient in Computer Programming (C++, Atlas, HP Basic).
  • Five years' minimum experience in electronic testing and troubleshooting to componet level (resistors, diodes, transistors, operational amplifiers, logic gates).
  • Extensive knowledge of RF Technology and applications.
