About The Position

Total Technology Incorporated, a Government Contracting Firm, has a Full-time position available in our Fabrication, wire, and assembly shop for an Electronic Technician. This is a full time assignment. The technician will work as part of a team to support the needs of our government customer. This position entails a range of assembly tasks including reading assembly drawings and schematics, some manual assembly of circuit board components with skills in components attachment and soldering, assembly of cables and harnesses and mechanical hardware assembly with some small machining as needed. This position may also include aspects of inventory management, parts selection and quality inspection and provides the opportunity to expand knowledge while working with a team of experienced electronic technicians.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must be able to pass a government Security Clearance – (CAC Card)
  • Must have a Real ID or a valid US Passport/Passport Card to work in Picatinny Arsenal, including passing a military background check for base access.
  • Must pass drug testing.
  • Ability to build and repair cables, electronics wired assemblies, printed wiring board assembly and mechanical hardware assembly and light machining as required.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of MIL-Spec connector series, strain relief assembly aspects and any knowledge of connector contacts and assembly procedures, understanding of wire and conductor characteristics and knowledge of physical cable protection and insulation is a plus.
  • The ability to review and understand engineering drawings to the extent necessary to be able to build items including reading assembly drawings, layouts, schematics, and wire lists.
  • The ability to test and verify and correct quality of assembly before delivery and the ability and willingness to provide constructive feedback to the design team on product builds is essential.
  • Ability to use test equipment as needed to verify satisfactory connectivity such as Ohmmeters, power supplies and other measurement apparatus.
  • Soldering and circuit board population and fabrication experience is an essential skill.
  • Review of documentation using standard desktop tools (Word Processing, spreadsheets as needed etc.) and ability to use Microsoft applications

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity and knowledge of MIL-Spec connector series, strain relief assembly aspects and any knowledge of connector contacts and assembly procedures, understanding of wire and conductor characteristics and knowledge of physical cable protection and insulation is a plus.
  • Having knowledge of IPC standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620B and IPC J-STD-001) is a plus.
  • Skills in organizing and managing inventory of piece parts and components is a plus.

  • Provide feedback and input to assembly documentation and specifications.
