About The Position

At Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems, this Electronic Technician - Level 2/3 position is within the Lab Test organization and is located in Melbourne, FL. The role involves performing a variety of tasks in an Electronic and Lab assembly area, working both individually and as part of a team in a dynamic R&D fabrication environment. A start date for selected candidates will be determined after obtaining Special Program Access (SAP). Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience (for Level 2).
High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience (for Level 3).
Must have an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance or higher clearance, with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation.
Must have ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs, prior to the start of employment.
Must be willing to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and off-shifts to support the business needs.
Must be willing to obtain and maintain the appropriate medical clearance(s), as defined per the customer’s contracting requirements, for the duration of your employment.
Ability to wear a respirator or other safety gear.
Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing 50lbs and work with hazardous-materials, in accordance with safety regulations.
Demonstrated experience with mechanical assemblies, electrical systems, and/or fabrication.

Knowledge of schematic diagrams and other engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

Maintaining the Lab space including 5’s and tool control.
Assembling and building Cable harness and Rack assemblies.
Supporting development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronic systems.
Conducting routine testing, troubleshooting, prototype building, and developmental engineering tasks.
Performing operational tests to ensure conformance with design specifications.
Diagnosing and isolating malfunctions down to the component level.
Conducting engineering tests and collecting data.
Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
