About The Position

Magellan Aerospace, New York is seeking a highly skilled Electronic Technician to support and maintain the electronic and control systems used in our precision manufacturing operations. The successful incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring production equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency through troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as an Electronic Technician in a manufacturing environment (CNC / aerospace preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of industrial automation and controls, electrical testing equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc., and Servo motors, drives, VFDs, and sensors
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and control issues under time pressure.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Manufacturing shop environment with exposure to machinery, electrical systems, and noise.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • May require working overtime, weekends, or off-shift support as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electronic systems, including CNC machines, PLC systems, Servo drives, VFDs, and motion control systems, and HMI systems and industrial networks
  • Perform electrical diagnostics on manufacturing equipment, automation systems, and facility infrastructure.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance on electronic systems to minimize downtime.
  • Support equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning.
  • Work closely with maintenance, engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve equipment issues and improve performance.
  • Document maintenance activities and update equipment records.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Assist in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance calls and support off-shift troubleshooting when required.
