This specific role is a key position within the Williamsport electrical/electronic repair team, focusing on troubleshooting, repairing, designing, and managing electrical and electronic control devices and systems to ensure maximum operational uptime and product quality.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a maintenance role (wire & cable experience preferred).
  • Proven track record of results in the installation, operation, and maintenance of manufacturing processes and equipment utilized in a continuous operation.
  • Result-driven individual with a proven track record in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong project management abilities.
  • Ability to manage and execute multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure on a daily basis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible work schedule to support a facility that runs 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week.
  • Ability to operate all commonly used electrical/electronic test equipment including: Oscilloscopes (with signal storage), Digital and analog multimeters, ammeters, megohmmeters, frequency meters, signal generators, Data loggers and chart recorders, Power Demand Analyzers.
  • Working knowledge of computers, including PCs and custom-designed control systems.
  • Ability to download information, configure and setup software, apply and troubleshoot serial communications, and repair systems with this type of equipment.
  • Comfortable with and able to use a computer as a normal working tool.
  • Ability to apply and program Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • A two (2) year associate degree in electrical/Electronics Technology or related degree with experience, OR a two-year electrical certificate with demonstrable aptitude for the work described above and a willingness to pursue further education as needed through training.

Nice To Haves

  • Wire & cable experience preferred.
  • Technical degrees considered a plus when supported with applicable experience.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting electrical and electronic control devices and systems and effecting timely repairs.
  • Designing new circuitry and modifying existing circuitry.
  • Managing selected projects as required to meet the needs of the Maintenance Department’s internal customers.
  • Ensuring a high level of safety awareness and encouraging it among other employees.
  • Using schematic diagrams, vendor-supplied technical data, and test equipment to troubleshoot and repair plant electrical and electronic control systems.
  • Specifying and assisting in selecting new electrical and electronic equipment, components, and installation/repair services.
  • Preparing requisitions for needed electronic components and supplies.
  • Inspecting, calibrating, programming, and adjusting plant electrical and electronic systems (including programmable controllers, computers, and AC&DC drives).
  • Encouraging and supporting teamwork within the electrical work group, which may include organizing work teams and serving as a member of teams.
  • Supporting and participating in the department safety committee.
  • Recommending changes to plant electronic components and systems to improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
  • Assisting maintenance electricians in performing PM, repairing breakdowns, and carrying out maintenance projects.
  • Maintaining a high level of housekeeping at all times.
  • Maintaining records to analyze equipment performance and determine necessary enhancements.
  • Documenting all work carefully and thoroughly.
  • Keeping existing documentation current and accessible to team members.
  • Ensuring software copies are up-to-date, available to the team, and that sufficient backup copies are maintained.
  • Working non-scheduled hours when needed.
