The Maintenance Electrician Technician role involves performing complex maintenance activities, including problem-solving, critical thinking, and process improvement. Technicians are expected to understand materials and maintenance activities well enough to train others and develop training materials. Electives are specialty areas where advanced skills can be developed to meet company needs. The role requires performing process checks, following reaction plans for deviations, and understanding customer requirements to ensure proper production operation. Good Manufacturing Practices, housekeeping, and safety guidelines must be followed, including wearing designated Personal Protective Equipment and conforming to regulatory requirements. All work performed and parts used will be documented in the CMMS. Technicians will modify, fabricate, and upgrade production equipment, implement preventive maintenance tasks, and use predictive maintenance techniques and tools to improve equipment reliability. This includes troubleshooting and repair activities, identifying necessary parts and tools, and tracking performance metrics. Continuous training is required for certification levels and to stay current with maintenance techniques. The use of Oracle eAM and generation of reports for budget and work planning are also key responsibilities. At Level 3, proficiency in software applications like eAM CMMS and Visual Work Instructions is expected, along with the ability to modify schematics and blueprints. Complex repair and diagnosis of process equipment, system troubleshooting, and repair of electrical controllers and instruments are required. PLC operation, including programming and troubleshooting, and modification of Panelview/HMI programs are also part of the role. Understanding of GuardLogix and safety circuits, HAZWOPER, precision measurement and machining, specification of parts like VFDs, repair of pneumatic and hydraulic systems, lubrication, fastener and tool usage, verification of motor controller settings, understanding of air compressors, boilers, hot and cold water systems, engine room systems, air handlers, ammonia systems, and plant utilities are also expected.
