This position is responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of highly sophisticated instrumentation and remote data acquisition telemetry. The role involves performing installation, repair, maintenance, and routine calibration for instrumentation and controls used in water/wastewater treatment and flow measurement, including telemetry. It also includes responding to critical equipment failures, maintaining and calibrating equipment, updating repair procedures, analyzing job requirements, and using technical manuals and drawings. The position requires monitoring and maintaining records of work performed, assisting with files and records of electronic equipment, and maintaining and calibrating safety equipment. Recommendations concerning spare parts inventory and electronic equipment purchases are also part of the role. Additionally, this position may assist in drafting bid specifications, directly supervise other Electronic Technicians (including training, scheduling, and performance evaluation), and assist them on more complicated jobs. The incumbent may perform duties of the Chief Electronic Technician and is considered essential personnel, required to report to work during departmental and/or emergency situations.
