About The Position

Designs, builds, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies developmental and production electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems. This role involves discussing layout and assembly problems with Engineers, assembling experimental circuitry, recommending changes to simplify assembly and maintenance, and conducting functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability. The technician will also adjust, calibrate, and modify circuitry, record effects on unit performance, write technical reports, and check the functioning of newly installed equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must be able to read blueprints and use schematics
• Must be able to use digital multimeters (DMMS), oscilloscopes, volt-ohm meter, and soldering equipment
• May be required to use various hand tools such as wire strippers, crimpers, screw drivers, etc.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree in electronic technology preferred

Responsibilities

• Discusses layout and assembly problems with Engineers and draws sketches to clarify design details.
• Assembles experimental circuitry or complete prototype model.
• Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
• Sets up standard test apparatus to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype.
• Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance.
• Writes technical reports and develop charts, graphs, and schematics to describe system's operating characteristics.
• Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
• Maintain laboratory equipment is in working order.
