About The Position

Boise Cascade is seeking an Electronic Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for maintaining expertise in electrical engineering, troubleshooting electronic components and control systems, writing PLC programs, and collaborating with various personnel to ensure production demands are met. The specialist will also be involved in improving the design of control devices and supporting mill production with various electronic equipment. Training other personnel and being on-call during off-hours are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

Electrical Engineering degree preferred or at least two years of industrial experience with electronics, computers, and control systems, or equivalent technical education.
Solid understanding of and ability to troubleshoot electronic components and control systems.
Ability to write PLC programs.
Working knowledge of PC programs.
Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Wood Products experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Maintain knowledge as a subject matter expert in electrical engineering as well as proactively develop skills to meet future technology advancements.
Communicate and collaborate with production teams, administrative personnel, and vendors in order to troubleshoot problems and generate solutions.
Write PLC programs and troubleshoot electrical systems to meet production demands.
Advocate solutions and provide guidance for process control and total quality.
Install, maintain, operate, and improve the design of all types of control devices and electronic accessories.
Work with computers, programmable logic controllers, electronic control devices, scanners and miscellaneous peripherals that support mill production.
Train other personnel in electronic troubleshooting.
This role requires working extra hours as necessary and being on-call during off hours.
