We have an opportunity for an experienced ESS Technician to fill a position for a key client. This position requires TS/SCI Clearance or the ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance. This is an extremely technical position with extensive network, IT, cybersecurity and security systems expertise required to provide field service and maintenance to our clients.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship and an active U.S. government security clearance or the ability to obtain U.S. government security clearance up to the level of Top Secret
  • Must have a minimum of 3 full years of experience in the low voltage / CCTV / security industry
  • HS Diploma or higher required
  • In-depth background in security technology and integration
  • Experience supporting commercial, DOD, and/or federal government IT infrastructure; IT infrastructure for Electronic Security Systems (ACS / IDS / VSS / Biometrics) is strongly preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Experience and CORE certifications in Lenel OnGuard and Milestone systems strongly preferred
  • Additional beneficial certifications: Bosch, Genetec, Honeywell, Hirsch, AMAG, CCNA Security, CCNA Routing & Switching, MCP, Microsoft, Cisco, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CSEIP

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite technical support to install, configure, maintain, and operate an HPSD-12 FIPS 140-2 compliant ESS
  • System programming, updating of firmware and software, troubleshooting, service, maintenance, and repair of all ESS
  • Follow blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans; feed cables through access holes, plenum spaces, and walls to reach outlets and hardware; then position and terminate cables, wires, and strapping
  • Examine systems to locate problems, such as loose connections or broken insulation
  • Replace electronic components and hardware (i.e., cameras, card readers, door strikes, etc.)
  • Test backup batteries, keypad programming, and all security features to ensure proper functionality
  • Diagnose malfunctions, mount, and fasten control panels, door and window contacts, sensors, and attach electrical and ethernet cabling to connect components
  • Inspect installation sites and study work orders, building plans, and installation manuals to determine material requirements and troubleshooting procedures
  • Test and repair circuits and sensors and install electrical conduit or tubing
  • Drill holes for wiring in wall studs, joists, ceilings, or floors; splice electric cable; repair or replace electrical wiring, circuits, fixtures, or equipment
  • Understand and execute basic software programming and adjustments to correct system deficiencies
  • Carry and move equipment and tools to and from vehicle, climb ladders in a safe manner
