About The Position

The Ohio Department of Public Safety – Emergency Management Agency is seeking an Electronic Radiation Instrument Technician 1 to assist in the repair, service, and non-NVLAP accredited calibration of electronic radiation detection and monitoring equipment. This role involves performing maintenance and repair on equipment such as radiation detectors, personal electronic dosimeters, and pocket ion chamber dosimeters. The technician will also keep records of equipment exchanges and inspections, attend training, and assist in maintaining equipment inventory.

Requirements

• 30 mos. exp. in electronics
• Valid driver's license
• Completion of associate core program in electronics, electronics engineering or electrical/electronic engineering
• 6 mos. exp. in electronics
• Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment

Responsibilities

• Assists in the repair, service & non-NVLAP accredited calibration of electronic radiation detection & monitoring equipment (e.g., radiation detectors, personal electronic dosimeters & pocket ion chamber dosimeters)
• Under direction of the Radiological instrument Service Manager & Radiological Instrument Tech 3, performs electronic radiation detection & monitoring equipment maintenance & repair
• Keeps records of the field exchange & inspection of state-owned radiological equipment located throughout the state
• Attends special equipment training as needed
• Assists the Radiological Instrument Service Manager & higher-level radiological instrument technicians in maintaining inventory of equipment
