About The Position

The Electronic Monitoring Community Liaison provides specialized operational, technical, and coordination support within Alberta’s Electronic Monitoring (EM) Program, with a primary focus on the Victim Notification Program. This role sits at the intersection of technology, public safety, and community engagement. Working with a high degree of independence, the Community Liaison ensures reliable system performance, effective stakeholder coordination, and trauma informed support for victims in complex and high risk situations. Through strong partnerships across the justice system, this role contributes directly to public confidence, victim safety, and consistent provincial EM practice.

Requirements

  • University graduation in a related field (Data Sciences, Computer Sciences, Social Sciences etc. ), plus 4 years of progressive, related experience; or equivalent as described below.
  • Directly related experience or education considered based on 1 year of experience for 1 year of education or 1 year of education for 1 year of experience.
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel are required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Related experience in a justice, corrections, public safety, or victim-serving environment.
  • Previous experience in environments involving high-risk, sensitive, or crisis-driven situations
  • Practical experience applying trauma-informed approaches
  • Previous experience working directly with victims of crime or individuals impacted by violence
  • Previous experience in a role requiring coordination with multiple justice system partners

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical support contact for participants in the Victim Notification Program, with emphasis on complex and high risk cases.
  • Support participants in the program in their use of technology in a trauma informed, victim centred manner, ensuring alignment with legislative and program requirements.
  • Provide real time technical troubleshooting and operational support to ensure reliable performance of electronic monitoring and notification systems.
  • Respond to alerts and support coordinated, timely responses with internal and external partners.
  • Monitor system alerts and program information to support the stability of technology.
  • Maintain situational awareness across interconnected systems to support informed operational decision making.
  • Work closely with internal teams, justice system partners, and stakeholders to support consistent communication and coordinated responses.
  • Build and sustain effective working relationships that support shared accountability across EM, victim services, and justice partners.
  • Contribute to testing, validation, and implementation of system changes, provincial standards, and process improvements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen program effectiveness, consistency, and public safety outcomes.
