About The Position

Under supervision of Electronic Health Record (EHR) Clinical Consultant, this role provides clinical support as the EHR Clinical Application Analyst for the Agency's EHR. The position is responsible for coordinating with program clinical staff for EHR related tasks and serves as the clinical expert to assist the EHR core Team with EHR tasks for the EHR clinical applications. The role involves building, coordinating, facilitating, and assisting the EHR clinical consultant with the clinical development and maintenance of the EHR system. It also includes developing and maintaining standardized clinical templates for documentation in the EHR, and in coordination with central office consultants and area staff, developing standardized workflow processes for each aspect of clinical service delivery within the EHR. The analyst will assist the office of nursing and the programs with the creation of clinical policies and procedures that relate to the EHR, and support the EHR Clinical Consultant with area and program staff to create and maintain clinical "buy-in" for the EHR system. Providing updates to clinical staff on the status of the EHR, and assisting with training, testing, and troubleshooting related to the clinical aspects of the EHR are key functions. The role requires investigating, researching, and troubleshooting problems in the EHR related to clinical workflows, and coordinating with IT staff on system modifications and contingency plans. Ensuring technology meets clinical requirements and involvement in assigned projects are also part of the responsibilities. The position acts as a communication and coordination link between clinical staff and the EHR CORE team, serving as the subject matter expert for public health clinical services and advising on necessary EHR functionality. It also serves as a point of contact for all clinical matters related to the EHR. Additionally, the role assists with Medical Equipment Power Shelter (MEPS) operations, maintains supportive nursing practice competencies (e.g., injection administration, oral medication administration, client emergency response including First Aid, CPR and AED), and requires willingness to assist during public health emergencies and outbreak response efforts. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and related nursing experience.
  • Current driver's license or ability to obtain transportation to fulfill job duties.
  • CPR certification within the first six (6) months and then as required.

Nice To Haves

  • At least three (3) years' experience as a Registered Nurse in Public Health.
  • Current licensure with SC Board of Nursing or compact state.
  • At least one (1) year of Oracle Cerner Electronic Health Record experience is preferred.

  • Maintains supportive nursing practice competencies to include, but not limited to, intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal best practice injection administration, oral medication administration, and client emergency response including First Aid, CPR and AED.
  • Willing and available to assist during times of public health emergency and outbreak response efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
